Lockback Knives

Description

One of the more traditional pocket knife designs is the Lockback, which is named for the locking mechanism at the back of the knife that holds the blade in an open position unless the button or lever is pushed while the blade is folded. Fans of these knives like the stability the locking mechanism provides while doing complicated hand work or using the knife from a variety of angles. Because the knife is named for a mechanism rather than the blade it is not unusual to see buck knifes, gut hooks, hunting knifes, or other blade styles in a lockback design.
